Over six action-packed weeks, kids will create their very own stop-motion animated movie from start to finish!

And this isn’t just watching someone show them how it’s done — they’ll actually be making the movie themselves! 🤩

🎬 One Story — Lots of Imagination!

We’ll all follow the same fun adventure story together, one scene at a time.

But here’s where the fun begins…

Every child’s movie will be different! 🌈

Their hero could be made from LEGO, clay, paper or even a favourite toy. Their adventure might take place in a jungle 🌴, outer space 🚀, an ancient castle 🏰 or somewhere completely unexpected!

Each week we’ll create, learn and film the next part of our adventure together.

Along the way, kids will learn how stop-motion animation works, how to position a camera, create smooth movement, animate characters, tell a story visually and use simple filmmaking techniques — all while having HEAPS of fun! 🎥🙌

By the end of the six weeks, they’ll be able to proudly say:

🎨 Materials List

A full materials list and setup information will be provided before the course begins.

Most of the movie can be created using simple craft supplies and things you may already have at home, such as:

• 🎨 Paper, cardboard and basic craft supplies
• ✏️ Pencils, markers or colouring supplies
• ✂️ Scissors, glue and tape
• 🧱 Play-Doh or clay
• 📦 Cardboard or a box to help create their movie set
• 🎭 Extra craft materials for backgrounds, characters and props

Children will be encouraged to use their imagination and work with materials they already have — there’s no need for expensive filmmaking equipment!

⚠️ IMPORTANT — TWO DEVICES REQUIRED

Children will need access to two separate devices during each live class:

• 💻 Device 1 — Zoom: A computer, laptop, tablet or other device to join the live Zoom class, watch the instructor and follow along.
• 📱 Device 2 — Filming: A phone or tablet with the recommended stop-motion app installed. This device will be used to take the photographs and create their movie.
• 📱 Device holder: Children will also need something that can securely hold their filming device in place while taking their stop-motion photos. The camera needs to stay still while the characters move!
• 🎬 Stop-motion app: Details of the recommended app and setup instructions will be provided before the first class.

Stop-motion filmmaking involves lots of creating, experimenting and questions, so we’re deliberately keeping this class small and interactive.
